A CEREMONY TO HONOR LIFE’S SACRED THRESHOLDS

There are moments in life when we are no longer who we were, but have not yet fully become who we are becoming.

A birth.
A first bleed.
A heart opening.
A death.
A goodbye.
A beginning we can feel before we can name.

These are threshold moments.

For most of human history, we did not cross them alone. We gathered. We witnessed. We prayed. We made meaning. We marked the moment so the body and soul could understand:

Something has changed.

Rite of Passage® is a collection of intimate, bespoke ceremonies created to honor these sacred crossings.

Rather than offering ceremonies for every possible milestone, my work centers around a few thresholds I feel especially called to hold.

BIRTH BLESSING

A sacred alternative to the traditional baby shower.

This ceremony honors not only the baby who is arriving, but the woman who is becoming.

Together with her chosen circle, we create space to bless the mother, honor the journey of pregnancy, welcome the baby, and surround them both with love, intention, prayer and support.

This can exist alongside a traditional baby shower or become the gathering itself.

FIRST MOON

A ceremony honoring a girl’s first bleed.

Menarche is one of the great thresholds of a woman’s life.

Rather than allowing this moment to pass quietly—or become something associated with embarrassment or secrecy—First Moon creates a beautiful, age-appropriate initiation into a new relationship with her body.

The ceremony can include her mother and a small circle of meaningful women, creating a memory that says:

Your body is wise. Your cycles are sacred. You are welcomed into this new season with love.

CACAO HEART CEREMONY

For the moments when the heart is asking to open.

Not every threshold has a name.

Sometimes we simply know that something inside us is ready to soften, awaken, forgive, remember or begin again.

Through cacao, intention, meditation, ritual and sacred conversation, this ceremony creates space to listen to what the heart has been trying to say.

It may mark a beginning, a birthday, a transition, a homecoming to yourself—or simply the desire to meet your own heart more deeply.

GRIEF & THRESHOLD

A ceremony for honoring what has been lost and what remains.

Grief changes us.

And yet so often, after the funeral ends and everyone returns to ordinary life, the grieving person is left standing alone at the threshold of a world that no longer looks the same.

This ceremony does not ask you to release your grief, find closure or move on.

It creates space to honor the person, relationship or life that was; to give language and ritual to what has changed; and to witness who you are becoming in the presence of that absence.

Because some things are not meant to be gotten over.

They are meant to be carried differently.

BESPOKE THRESHOLD CEREMONY

Occasionally, a person arrives at a threshold that does not fit neatly into a name.

A profound ending.
A reclamation.
A new identity.
A season that asks to be consciously closed before another can begin.

For these moments, I offer a limited number of completely bespoke ceremonies.

We begin with conversation.

We listen for what the threshold is asking.

And from there, I create the ritual.

THE EXPERIENCE

Ceremonies are created for individuals or intimate circles of up to 12 people.

Each experience begins with a private consultation so I can understand the story behind the threshold: what is ending, what is beginning, what needs to be honored, and what you want to remember.

From there, I create the ceremony specifically for you.

Depending on the threshold, it may include prayer, meditation, sacred witnessing, candle ritual, water, anointing, cacao, flowers, storytelling, symbolic acts, blessings or other ceremonial elements chosen intentionally for your experience.

Ceremonies are approximately two hours and may be offered in person or virtually when appropriate.

You will also receive a ceremonial keepsake created to help you remember the crossing.

WHY CEREMONY?

Ceremony does not create the transformation.

It gives the transformation somewhere to land.

It allows us to pause long enough to recognize:

I was there.

Something happened.

I crossed.

And I did not cross alone.

If you are standing at one of these thresholds, I would be honored to stand there with you.
